Author's Tour Amazing Mexico

Early morning flight to Tuxla, the beautiful state of Chiapas. (07:00-11:05 (with transfer)) The highlight of today's tour will be a boat ride along the Sumidero Canyon, the height of which at its highest point reaches a thousand meters. Admire the beautiful rock formations and enjoy the rich wildlife you'll see along the banks of the Grijalva River (crocodiles, spider monkeys and many other bird species). Next on the way to San Cristobal de las Casas we will pass through the historically significant town of Chiapa de Corzo. An excursion full of mysticism is planned for today. Visit the indigenous villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, located in the highlands of Chiapas. Both Tzotzil Maya communities clearly reflect the complex ethnic makeup of Chiapas. They still exhibit a wide variety of customs and beliefs, expressed in pagan and Christian traditions. The second half of the day is free time. We encourage you to explore the beautiful city of San Cristobal de las Casas with its many attractions, colorful market, cathedral and Jade Museum. On the way to Palenque we will visit the Agua Azul waterfalls. The turquoise color that makes these waterfalls unique comes from the high level of mineralization of the water. Enjoy the jungle surroundings and go swimming (time permitting). We will then continue our journey through the lush jungle of Palenque to our final destination.

Visit the archaeological site of Palenque, one of the most important sites of the Mayan world. Lacamha, as the city was known among the ancient Mayans, flourished in the 7th century. It gained fame during the reign of the legendary King Pakal, whose tomb was found in Palenque's most iconic landmark, the Temple of the Inscriptions. In this ruined city you will see some of the most beautiful architecture, exquisite sculptures created by the ancient Mayans. Enjoy a guided tour and admire the impressive structures and breathtaking natural environment of this World Heritage Site. After this visit we head to Campeche, a charming city full of maritime history, Spanish baroque architecture. Over the past few years, the city has restored hundreds of historic buildings in the city center, making it one of the most beautiful colonial cities in all of Mexico. Upon arrival, you will be taken on a sightseeing tour of the city.
