Cincinnati Airport Guide

Whether you have a brief connection, an all-night layover or you’re simply dropping someone off, our Travel Code Cincinnati Airport Guide will help you plan the perfect airport stop. Below you’ll find everything worth knowing about CVG’s services and facilities – lounges, Wi-Fi, power points, lockers, 24-hour food, nearby airport hotels, transport options and more.

CVG Airport Overview

What to Expect

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (IATA: CVG) includes one main terminal with two concourses (A & B). An underground train and a pedestrian tunnel link the concourses, while the main terminal houses check-in, baggage claim and a public meet-and-greet zone. Dozens of shops and restaurants operate, but all shut overnight, so stash snacks and drinks before midnight. Free Wi-Fi covers the whole airport and economy travelers can upgrade comfort by paying for one of the business lounges.

Sleeping in Cincinnati Airport

Travelers with overnight layovers have reported several decent spots:

  • Concourse A Starbucks zone – curved couches without armrests.
  • Concourse B rest area by McDonald’s – padded chairs plus outlets.
  • Outdoor grassy strip near Limousine Parking – pleasant in summer months.

Bring an extra layer and eye-mask; air-conditioning blasts and bright lights are common after hours. For uninterrupted sleep, the on-site DoubleTree by Hilton or other shuttle-served properties are great alternatives (see Airport Hotels).

Throughout this guide “landside” refers to public areas before security, and “airside” to secure zones after security screening.

Airport Hours

CVG is open 24 hours. Security checkpoints generally run 03:30 – 21:20. When airside areas close outside flight schedules, landside seating remains accessible.

Rest & Relaxation Zones

Free lounge-style seating with power outlets is available in Concourse B’s food-court mezzanine.

Cots

The airport does not routinely supply cots to stranded passengers. If policy changes, please let Travel Code know.

Airport Hotels

If airport snoozing isn’t appealing, the following hotels are nearest and run free shuttles:

  • DoubleTree by Hilton Cincinnati Airport – attached to the terminal; shuttle on demand.
  • Cincinnati Airport Marriott – 5-minute ride; shuttle on request.
  • Hampton Inn Cincinnati Airport North – complimentary shuttle 24/7.
  • Country Inn & Suites by Radisson – free shuttle according to flight times.
