Trains, the right way for the right routes.
Intercity high-speed rail across Europe, North America, and Asia — plus airport express trains in every major hub. Eurostar to Heathrow Express, Deutsche Bahn to Aeroexpress, all booked in the same flow as your flights. Cost-effective, low-carbon, and finally visible to Finance.
Major rail networks across three continents.
Rail content covers the operators your travelers actually use. European high-speed network end to end. Amtrak and VIA Rail in North America. Selected operators across Asia where commercial booking is available. Plus airport express services worldwide — full breakdown in the next section.
Rail, flight, bus — compared side by side.
When a traveler searches London → Paris, the platform shows every mode that runs the route. Door-to-door time, total cost, carbon — visible upfront. Traveler picks the right tool. Policy applies. Booking happens.
Default multi-modal.
Rail surfaces by default for every search where it's available. Traveler sees the comparison; doesn't have to know rail exists for the route.
Policy per mode.
Configurable: require rail for routes under a distance threshold, allow rail-by-default with flight on exception, or leave the choice to the traveler. All three patterns supported.
Carbon comparison built in.
Every search shows CO2 per option. Rail is typically 10–20x lower than flying. ESG reports track carbon avoided on policy-eligible routes.
First Class, Standard, refundable — all bookable.
Cabin class, fare flexibility, and traveler loyalty pass through to bookings the same way they do for flights. Rail isn't a stripped-down booking channel — it's the same shape as your flight workflow.
Standard, First / Business, Premium.
All tiers bookable where the operator offers them. Policy enforced — for example First Class only on routes over a threshold time, or only for specific traveler bands.
Flexible vs Saver fares.
Both refundable and non-refundable fares available. Policy can require flexible for short-notice trips, Saver for planned travel, or leave it to traveler discretion.
Traveler accounts preserved.
DB Bahn.Bonus, SNCF Connect, Amtrak Guest Rewards, Club Eurostar — existing accounts attach to bookings where the supplier permits. Status tier honored.
The fastest, cheapest, lowest-carbon way from airport to city.
Airport express is the most underused option in corporate travel.
From major hubs worldwide, airport express trains are typically faster than transfer cars in traffic, dramatically cheaper, and the lowest-carbon option for the airport-to-city leg.
Heathrow → Paddington: 15 minutes by Heathrow Express vs 60+ minutes by transfer in traffic. Narita → Tokyo by Narita Express: 53 minutes vs 90+ by car. KLIA → KL Sentral by KLIA Ekspres: 28 minutes vs 60+. Aeroexpress from Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, or Vnukovo to Moscow: 35–50 minutes vs 90+ at peak.
- Auto-suggested with arrivals — when a flight is booked to an airport with express rail, the platform offers the right departure time matching the flight arrival. Click to add.
- Class and policy options — Standard Express, Business / First Class where available. Policy controls (e.g., Business First only for executives or trips over a threshold).
- Group bookings — for groups arriving on the same flight, the group ticket buys in one transaction. Particularly useful for conferences arriving via the same hub.
Rail on the same ledger as flights, hotels, and ground transport.
Every rail booking — intercity or airport express — flows through the same expense, duty-of-care, and ESG pipelines as flights and hotels. No re-keying, no separate sustainability spreadsheet.
Auto-coded, auto-attached.
Rail tickets generate expense records automatically. Receipts attached. Pre-categorized as rail (or under your custom GL structure). Synced to QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, SAP.
Trip-aware tracking.
Rail booking joins the unified trip record. Robert AI agent can answer "who's traveling by rail this week?" For airport express, integration with the flight booking tracks the arrival → express → hotel sequence end to end.
Carbon avoided, reportable.
Rail emits roughly 10–20x less CO2 than flying per pax-km. Every booking logs carbon. Reports show what was saved by choosing rail on policy-eligible routes. CSRD, GHG Protocol, SBTi supported.
Common questions on rail and airport express.
Which rail operators are covered?
All major European high-speed networks (Eurostar, SNCF / TGV, Deutsche Bahn ICE, Renfe AVE, Trenitalia Frecciarossa, ÖBB, SBB, NS). Amtrak and VIA Rail for North America. Selected Asia operators (Japan JR routes, Korea, Malaysia). For airport express: Heathrow Express, Gatwick Express, Stansted Express, Narita Express, KLIA Ekspres, Aeroexpress (SVO / DME / VKO), Arlanda Express, Flytoget, Hong Kong Airport Express, and others.
How does multi-modal search handle policy compliance?
Policy rules apply per mode. Common patterns: "rail required for routes under 600 km" (forces rail when available), "rail-by-default, flight on exception" (defaults to rail with reason required for the override), "rail-or-flight at traveler discretion" (no preference). All three patterns are supported, plus custom variations. Policy applies at search time so the traveler sees what's compliant before they pick.
Are rail loyalty programs preserved?
Yes. Traveler's existing accounts (DB Bahn.Bonus, SNCF Connect, Amtrak Guest Rewards, Club Eurostar) attach to bookings where the supplier permits. Status earns and redemptions work normally — we don't lock benefits to corporate.
How does airport express auto-suggestion work?
When a flight is booked to an airport with express rail service, the booking flow detects the arrival airport and auto-suggests the appropriate express ticket with the right departure time matching the flight arrival (default buffer 20–30 min, configurable). Traveler can accept, modify, or skip. For programs that require airport express where available, the rail ticket is added automatically alongside the flight.
What about carbon reporting for ESG compliance?
Every booking — flight, rail, bus, transfer — emits a CO2 figure attached to the transaction. Reports aggregate by traveler, department, project, time period. Carbon avoided (by choosing rail over flight when policy-eligible) is calculated and reportable. ESG frameworks supported include CSRD, GHG Protocol, SBTi.
