IND Airport Overview
What to Expect
Indianapolis Airport (code: IND) consists of two modern concourses connected by a central ticketing area. After clearing security, passengers can move between concourses without re-screening. You will find about two dozen eateries, an equal number of shops, free Wi-Fi, and clusters of power outlets. Economy travellers can upgrade comfort by paying to access first-class lounges.
Sleeping in Indianapolis Airport
Staff and security are generally accommodating to overnight sleepers, although you are restricted to landside once checkpoints close. Comfortable couches dot the terminal; popular spots include the public lounge and baggage claim thanks to padded seating. Temperatures can drop and PA announcements echo, so pack earplugs and an extra layer. There is no on-site hotel, but multiple properties sit within shuttle distance – see Airport Hotels below.
Airport Hours
The terminal operates 24/7. Security checkpoints open at 3:30 AM (Checkpoint A) and 3:45 AM (Checkpoint B).
Rest & Relaxation Zones
No dedicated rest zones exist. If you spot a new quiet area, let us know.
Cots
During mass flight cancellations, the airport may provide cots. Availability can vary; ask ground staff for current details.
