ONT Airport Overview
Ontario International Airport (IATA: ONT) features three terminals: Terminal 2, Terminal 4 and the International Arrivals facility. Departures operate from Terminals 2 or 4, while the compact two-gate international hall welcomes inbound overseas flights. Landside courtesy shuttles link the buildings in just a few minutes. Amenities remain modest—expect only a fistful of eateries and shops, complimented by free four-hour Wi-Fi. Nothing runs 24/7, so night owls should stock up in advance. Economy passengers can buy access to the Aspire Lounge.
Sleeping in Ontario Airport
Recent sleep reports are scarce, yet the feedback we do receive notes acceptable warmth and lighting, but limited arm-rest-free seating. Power outlets are sporadic, therefore a portable battery is priceless. For deeper shut-eye, several nearby hotels send complimentary shuttles—jump to our Airport Hotels section.
Remember: “landside” indicates pre-security public zones, while “airside” sits beyond TSA screening.
Airport Hours
The terminal buildings stay open 24 hours daily. Airline counters, TSA lanes and bag drops mirror flight schedules, so reconfirm specifics with your carrier. Landside visitors cannot cross into airside until the morning reopening of checkpoints.
Rest & Relaxation Zones
No designated quiet rooms or nap pods exist. If you discover new options, please let Travel Code know.
Cots
ONT does not distribute cots during cancellations. Should that policy evolve, share an update.
Airport Hotels
If the floor looks unforgiving, consider these properties within five minutes of ONT:
- Candlewood Suites, Ontario Convention Center – walkable, no shuttle.
- Comfort Suites Ontario Convention Center – free shuttle on demand.
- Azure Hotel & Suites, Ontario Airport – taxi or ride-share, no shuttle.
Compare rates and read peer reviews via Booking.com, Expedia, Hilton, Marriott and more. For broader Southern California stays, Travel Code’s hotel engine lists 250+ options around Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

Food & Drinks
Vendors run on individual timetables; none stay open overnight. Pack snacks if you’re landing after midnight. Options during operational hours include:
- Terminal 2 – Cross-Grain Brewhouse • Harvest & Grounds • Wolfgang Puck Pizza
- Terminal 4 – Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf • Einstein Bros. • Dunkin’ • Jake’s Bar • Rock & Brews • Wahoo’s Fish Taco
Luggage Storage & Lockers
No lockers are available. Oversize or long-term storage requires an off-airport service.
Mobile Charging
Power points pop up randomly—look along concourse floors near Gates 208-212 and 408-410. Bring your own splitter and extension cord for reliability.
Showers
Showers are not supplied at ONT. Day-use rooms at nearby hotels can bridge the gap if needed.
Wi-Fi / Internet
Free Wi-Fi is broadcast under SSID “ONT-WiFi”. Each device receives four complimentary hours daily—simply refresh for extra time.
Security & Safety
Airport snoozing always carries risk, especially when solo. Heed these basics:
- Locate security cameras or position yourself within sight of patrols.
- Stay visible; an occupied zone discourages theft more than a secluded corner.
- Conceal valuables deep inside bags, lock zippers and attach luggage to a fixed object or your body.
- Remain alert if intuition warns—caffeine and group chat help until dawn.
