SGF Airport Overview
To help organize your layover or overnight adventure, here’s a quick rundown of what you can anticipate while passing through SGF.
What to Expect
Springfield-Branson National Airport (IATA: SGF) is housed in a compact, contemporary terminal with a single concourse and ten gates. Travelers will find three eateries airside, one landside, plus newsstands on both sides of the checkpoint. Complimentary Wi-Fi covers the building, but there are no pay-per-use lounges.
Sleeping in Springfield Airport
Only one sleep-related review has reached us so far and the traveler found rest inside the quiet Meditation Room. For undisrupted shut-eye, consider one of the nearby hotels (see Airport Hotels below).
Check out the freshest traveler reviews for insider tips or continue scrolling for the full Travel Code SGF guide.
Throughout this guide we reference “landside”—the pre-security public area—and “airside”—the secure zone after security screening.
Airport Hours
The terminal operates 24 hours daily.
Remember that TSA, airline check-in and baggage services run in sync with individual flight schedules. Landside guests will have to wait until early morning to re-enter the secure area.
Rest & Relaxation Zones
SGF offers no formally designated napping pods, rest zones or quiet rooms beyond the Meditation Room. If this has changed, help fellow travelers by sending Travel Code an update.
Cots
The airport does not currently supply cots to stranded passengers. Spot something different? Let us know!
Airport Hotels
If curling up on terminal seating sounds grim, several hotels sit minutes from SGF and supply complimentary shuttle transport:
- Courtyard Springfield Airport – Free shuttle, pool, fitness centre. Check rates.
- Best Western Plus Springfield Airport Inn – Breakfast included, 24-hour shuttle. Check rates.
- La Quinta Inn & Suites Springfield Airport Plaza – Indoor pool, pet-friendly. Check rates.

Airport Lounges
No airline or pay-in lounges are available at the moment.
Drinking Water
Filtered water fountains and bottle-fill stations are posted by Gates 3 and 8. Bring a reusable bottle to stay hydrated.
Food & Drinks
24-hour dining isn’t an option at SGF; concessions generally open 30 minutes before the first departure and close after the final arrival of the day.
- Landside – Traveler’s House Coffee
- Airside – Tailwinds Concessions • The Riverbend Bar & Grill
Luggage Storage & Lockers
No short-term lockers or staffed bag storage facilities are offered.
Mobile Charging
Look for countertop power bars near Gates 7-10; each station supplies eight 110-volt sockets. Additional outlets are dotted beneath seating along the concourse walls.
Showers
Public showers are not available.
Wi-Fi / Internet
Enjoy unlimited, fee-free Wi-Fi throughout the terminal. Connect to “SGFAirportFree” and accept the terms.
Security & Safety
Staying overnight in any airport carries inherent risk. Follow these common-sense measures to safeguard yourself and your belongings:
- Locate Security. Know where the police substation or CCTV clusters are situated.
- Stay Visible. Rest near fellow travelers rather than secluded corners.
- Conceal Valuables. Lock zippers, keep electronics out of sight, or secure your bag to a fixed object.
- Remain Aware. If you feel uneasy, grab a coffee and stay awake; you can snooze comfortably on the aircraft later.
